Zuni Chapter Activities
Do you love being outdoors? Do you have a passion for recreation
opportunities on public lands? Have you ever gazed in awe at the
Milky Way over Bluewater Lake? How about riding, caring for, and
learning about horses and mules? Have you yearned to take a
pack trip into the Cibola National Forest to accomplish important
work?
Those are some of the activities we pursue as members of the Zuni Chapter of New Mexico's Back Country Horsemen. We have fun, we work hard, we enjoy the fellowship of New Mexicans who care deeply about the beautiful lands that surround us. We make a difference. Here's how we do that.
Along with other members of the Zuni Trail Partnership (pdf), we helped make the Zuni trails (click here (pdf) for maps of trail systems in our area) a reality for all trail users. The development of that trail network is one of our long-term projects, along with the Gallup North Side trails.

It's not all sawdust, log bucking, and rock moving for us. Our members and steeds gather to ride for the pleasures of the desert and mountains, to enjoy conversation with friends, and to be out in the world with our horses.
In the summer, we might hold a ride in conjunction with a membership meeting ( to be announced). In the winter, We will have meetings (to be announced) But all the dates and times will be announced. We usually schedule rides (to be announced.)
