Welcome to the Back Country Horsemen of New Mexico official website. The members of BCHNM  have come together to preserve and protect America's back country.

This website provides a glimpse of some of the activities and dedicated work that goes into keeping the back country open so that everyone may enjoy it.

So, we invite you to kick back, stay a while and enjoy your visit!

The BCHNM has set a date for the 2010 Rendezvous. Click here for more details and to get the latest information.

Senators Bingaman and Udall of New Mexico have introduced legislation to create new wildness areas in the Organ Mountains and other areas in Southern New Mexico. Send each of them a letter encouraging them to include "horse friendly" language in the Act. Get a sample letter here. Mail it or fax it to the numbers below.
The Valle Caldera Preserve is a great natural resource of great interest to Backcountry Horsemen. Keep informed on the status and plans for the Preserve on the Valles Caldera website.
